Tire Question
In my experience, once you get past "T" (118 mph) treadlife begins to go down as the speed rating goes up. An undetectable (by steering feel) misalignment cost me almost half the tread on a street-driven "H" (130 mph) tire in a couple of weeks on one of my wife's Jags.
they are all " S " rated tires. I have the Michelin V rated 215-70-15
tires on my car ( Bolt on Knock offs). ( No clearance issues).. Michelin
quit making
the V rated tires, which are higher speed rated and softer
and higher quality rubber.. I think maybe Bridgestone or one of the
manufacturers still makes the V rated.. I did see Michelin
T rated tires in this size at Sam's the other day.
Cheers, Zale
C2 Corvettes are capable of............but are very unstable at "V" rated speeds. I understand and attain those speeds often, and believe me, you don't want to try these speeds on other than a racetrack.
