Sunday was the local Lions Club car show. I have to say you gotta be a dedicated individual to set for hours in 95-100 degree temps with humidity to match. The turnout amazed me and most stuck around to the end. I only walked the field and was drenched. I know I'm supposed to post pics with a car show thread but my camera batteries died just after I arrived. I do have one to share. I love the paint! I thought about doing the lace paint to my car but don't have the talent to do it. I've known this car since the early 70's and it hasn't changed one iota. I think the only time it gets out is to do a couple of local shows.

You need a lava lamp, leisure suit and a mood ring to drive that thing...
And a fattie on the side when not driving...
Way cool car. I love them all, restored, modded, ratted, or slammed. They are vettes. The car referenced is a survivor from an era gone. If you get to Corvettes at Carlisle, I hope there is a C1 there from this area that is muraled (sp). The guy who owns it bought is the way it is. Beautiful paint work. It's not everyone's cup of tea but it's a vette and it is his, and it's part of vette history.
Even though I was there at the car show from 8:30am til 3pm I just now noticed that the 61 had 6 tailights. You can see the back end of the car in this picture.

Really unique! He was in my class
I think he won first place. He must have been in a different class than you cause your car is way more impressive! Or he had "friends" judging the entries.

We was in modified Corvettes 53-82.I got 1st and he got 2nd and a C-3 got 3rd.
Clay with the 67 elkhart blue got 1st and Bob with the white 58 got 2nd and the lynndale blue 67 got 3rd in stock Corvettes 53-67.
We know about the friends judging.Hard to believe but Jeff with the hugger orange 69 Z28 that was with our group didn't get anything and the car that won his class no one ever saw the car in the park.It was a green 69 Z28.
That hood stripe does a great job of blending in the Pro Stock hood and make it not so obvious.
That thing just needs a 4 speed and 5.57 gears in an Olds rearend...a tunnel ram with 660 Holley's and some M/T valve covers to be perfect! Oh yeah...some yellow Lakewood slapper bars with J-Bolts!
