Is the aluiminum ( 129 ) intake for a 340 hp 1963 considerd a high rise intake , compared to the cast iron ( 349 ) intake used on the 300 hp with the bakelite 1/2 " insulator & baffle plate ? Question is could you use the insulator spacer & baffle plate on the ( 129 ) aluiminum intake ? Rick

Whether or not you can use the spacer is dependent upon how much clearance you have between the hood and the air cleaner.

Try this: Roll up a ball of aluminum foil or play-doh, and put it on the highest part of the air cleaner.

Close the hood carefully, then open the hood and measure the thickness of the now-compressed ball. That's how much clearance you have.

Remember that raising the carb might create a new challenge where the fuel line connects, if the fuel line can't reach the carb at the new location. So watch for that.
