Default 63 split window

I'm pretty sure this isn't real so i'm asking if anyone has seen this. 63 split window for 17k. Too good to be true. Listed on Autotrader classic.

http://www.autotraderclassics.com/cl...ationId=805678

The phone number is bad goes to a fax. I e-mailed the seller and received this response. Sounds like BS to me. Any thoughts?

Thanks......Mark

Hello,

My `63 Chevrolet Corvette is still for sale. The asking price is $17,000 please note this price doesn't include shipping taxes, for an accurate cost provide me with your zip code or full address. It is located in Canada, as I recently moved here with my job. Please note it is still registered in the United States so there will be no import taxes or additional fees to pay. The car is registered on my name and the title is clear (no lien). It is in great condition, no dents or scratches. It was always garaged and the regular maintenance was done in time. It wasn't involved in any accident and has never suffered any kind of damage. Also this is a non-smoker car.

I've attached you photos, they show the actual condition of it. If you have any questions regarding the car just let me know!

I had a buyer offering $18,500 and I've lost about 2 weeks waiting for him to pay just to find out in the end that his loan wasn't approved. I've lowered the price because I'm in desperate need of cash, so if you don't need a loan you can have it. I don't want to offend you, but the car is priced for a fast sale so please if you intend to apply for a loan or financing do not reply to this message!

I'm currently signed up for a protection program offered by Google Checkout and I would like to close the deal through them. If you are not aware of this program you should know that it will allow you to test drive and inspect the car before paying me. You will have a 5 days inspection period to decide whether you want to keep it or not before they release the funds to me.

I look forward hearing from you.

John.

Autotrader came to the same conclusion, the ad's been removed.

I would be suspect of anyone selling a Corvette, that they say has no "dents"!

Yeah ! I'd never buy a 63 that had been smoked in either !!

Mark, welcome to the forum! Easy to notice your first posts involved the potential 63 scam. No doubt about it, it is and hopefully you were not giving it any real consideration since you posted it in both the c3 & c1/c2 sections. Interesting to think what if scammers start to read about our thoughts and why the scam seems to stick out like a sore thumb? They sure do come up with some good ones so they must be constantly in brain storming sessions or doing research on how to make the scam less obvious. This post copied from my response in the C3 section.

Very similar wording to a reply I received on a car I was trying to buy that turned out to be a scam.

Default Thanks guys

I figured it was a scam priced like that. I showed the ad to a friend of mine who has a 63 vert and he died laughing. I'm a bit priced out of the market for now but i'll get there. I prefer a 67 coupe when i come up with the cash. I like the looks of this one but like i said a few more months before i can afford the price. I plan on paying up to get what i want. The price of cool aint cheap.....
