I have about the slowest Body shop guy around, but we are getting close. He uses my cars for "fill in work" when he doesn't have insurance work going. Below is a the current status. I think a little wet sanding and some reassemply and it comes back to me for the mechanical work.
Thought I'd give an update....I have collected up a complete LS2 engine, Tremec 5 speed, Front Disk Brake Kit, Power steering and suspension upgrade font and rear....All I need is a few months of Sundays and the advice of a few you you that have been down this path before... I'll keep you informed.
Looks like a great project Jon! My paint/body guy is pretty quick, but the mechanical side has been slow going. I found with my second shop that a weekly meeting to go through the accomplishment from the previous week, plan for the next week and any parts issues helps a ton. It is not fast progress, but at least it is progress.
drop me a line anytime.. i'm about an hour south of you.. RJ is probably less than 20 minutes from you.. we've both done '64 restos..
Thanks Mikey....I have a 59 I restored several years ago, but all this computer driven stuff is new. I am trying to learn, but expect I'll make a few mistakes along the way. The car has been in the body shop for about 9 months if you can believe it. The front clip had to be replaced, but it is finally getting close. My son and I are going to put it together as a father/ son thing.
I'll update as I go and I am sure I'll have lots of questions.
