65 327 Plug Wire Replacement
I found a bad plug wire and I have decided to replace the full set. Fortunatley the bad wire was cylinder 5 and cylinders 5-8 were easily replaced. Looking at cylinders 1-4 the wires go behind the engine mounts.
Will I be able to feed the wires through that space or will I have to remove the engine mount? I am thinking that the coil end of the plug wire should go through the space.

Just remove the distributor end boots, thread the two front wires on each side behind the mounts, and go from there.

Yes, I am running a stock ignition and installing a standard set of Packard wires.
Looks like they will thread through from your comments.
Thanks for the help,
Bill

Bill,
I tied a string to the old wire before I removed it. After removing the old wire, I tied the string to the new wire and used the string to help guide the new wire thru.
Good Luck,
Mark

Follow John Z's suggestion. And to make it easier, I cut off the plug connector on the old wire and attached the new wire, distributor end, to the old wire, at the plug end, using a long piece of bailing wire. Then I just pulled the old wire through the engine mount, through the chrome channel till the bailing wire was all the way through. Then I pulled the bailing wire with the new wire through the engine mount and chrome channel. All eight wires took only a couple of hours.
