e brake stuck
The e brake cable has some slack when I release it, but the brake is stuck on. What's the best way to free it up? Thanks
If it was me I would remove the rims, remove the caliper and spray PB Blaster or similar rust removing penetrant into the ebrake area. Put a block of wood up against the rotor and start hitting it with a large ball pen hammer, work your way around, go side to side, top to bottom, hit it in towards the diff and out towards the fender well and hope it breaks loose quickly.
If this fails spray in much more of the PB Blaster, let is soak overnight and start again.
I hope it pops on the first try.
A puller on the rotor pulling against the axle will pull it off but will surely damage parts.
My 66 sat the same amount of time and we were able to roll it right onto the trailer.
The Ebrake must have been off the entire time. Good Luck.
