correct air compressor size
air delivery at 11.5/10.2 SCEM @ 40/90 PSI
This compressor is within my price range but is it capable of giving a decent paint job? (I have some help here) 59 navy
I just bought an Iwata lph400 lvx 1.4 that uses 10cfm and sprays the paint much slower and with less overspray. My compressor can supply both the Iwata and the supplied air mask at the same time. My point is you need to know the CFM requirements of the spray gun and buy the compressor accordingly. I'd suggest 15CFM minimum.
Your Husky would work with the Iwata but not the SATA I have. I also have a 1.7 SATA KLC to spray the thick high build primer. BTW that Iwata gun is really nice and sprays a very tight pattern at only 16psi air pressure at the gun. You buy a different tip tho for clear on that particular gun. The Iwata cost $450 new but I can sell it for slightly less on the bay when I get done painting.

I've had my 60 gal Husky for 8 months and am happy with it for the money. I wanted a good compressor but that's like $2,500.
I've only shot a little bit of primer with an HPLV but it worked fine.
What I have done is a boatload of glass beading (67 frame-off). It keeps up with the bead blast cabinet @ 100 psi. The pump does get hot, so I only blast about 20 minutes and let the pump cool some.
Over all, I'm quite satisfied for $450.
Couple things,
Change the compressor oil after breakin and a half hour's use.
Check the pully alignment with a straight edge before startup.
When you're looking at them in the store, check the motor. Some have Chinese electric motors, some have Marathon motors (I made them move 2 units and give me the one with the Marathon motor.)
Last year, the Campbell compressors at Lowes were identical to the Huskys except for paint color.
Check the warranty on the compressor label, my Husky states 5 years.
