Default C2 Window Crank ***** - Removal Question

How are the ***** (not the cranks themselves) on the window cranks removed? I see that there are 2 pieces - the **** and the stud or screw (backside of **** on handle). Do you just pry the stud from the back of the handle to remove the ****?

The stud looks like a screw with threads that secure the **** to it and it free wheels when opening/closing the windows.

Thanks!

They're riveted on from the factory.

Ideally, you'd have the whole crank off the door panel before trying to remove the **** from the crank.

Why are you working on those? Are they loose? If so, you can peen over that rivet some more to tighten them up.

Can you post a picture of what you have? Sounds like a repair has been made to them in the past.

If this is what you are talking about. These are originals. Its a stud that has been pined over.

The replacements pictured is what I had described as a screw.

Ok - Mine are the originals - never been touched - (I'm the original owner) so it must be a rivet - How do I remove the **** with the rivet? Drill out the rivet?
The replacements pictured is what I had described as a screw.

Thanks!
