I've only seen one (1) '63 that is known to be a Hertz car and it is also White/Red 250hp Auto. It is #13,114 - is this the same Coupe?
My understanding is that there were 8 -10 '63 Shriner cars but I've never seen any documentation showing the vin numbers or if they were built in sequence.
Anyone own one of the '63 Silver Shriner cars?

In December, 1966 I had the choice of two Shriner 'Vettes, a silver '63 with 40,000 miles for $2000 or a red '64 with 16,000 miles for $2600. Back then 40,000 miles was time for lots of service issues, plus the '64 had the hardtop, taken from the '63 and re-sprayed Riverside Red. Both cars were 250/auto. I'd only driven sticks to this point, but the styling, handling, driving position and low price (Blue Book on the '64 was about $3000) won me over. I still have the "red-headed stepchild" '64 today, almost 300,000 miles later.
Seller was a California-based physician, son-in-law of a Shriner Corvette Patrol member, who passed the cars to him after a year or two of ownership. A few months later, he received a yellow '65, PG, side exhausts and a black vinyl luggage space curtain.
He owed exactly $2600 as the balloon payment on a swimming pool construction loan, so I bailed him out. Win-win situation AFAIC. It was kind of cool driving it to high school the second half of my senior year, replacing a hand-me-down '62 Stude Lark (289/225hp)!

We just had one of our good customers pick up a 1963 Hertz Corvette coupe. Has all the paperwork to verify its the real deal. White with red interior, from Colorado. When and if it comes to the shop I'll try and get some pics to see.

All that natural stuff men always want to view.

The gal is probably past 80, if she is even still alive. I would peg her at 30-35 YO in the photo

Actually I originally thought it was for convenience at the drive-in movie or when you were at your favorite parking spot. Could be wrong!!!! But Jeff's answer makes more sense and is probably more accurate.

There was a white with red interior 63 coupe hertz car at fall Carlisle swap meet last week. A employee of ours sent me a picture of the car with the documentation laid out in the back. I think he said they were asking 62000.
I would post a picture but don't know how to take it from my iPhone to iPad. In 40 years of 63 ownership I never heard of a 63 hertz car and now 2 surface in the same week.

Though in good condition, it appeared to be either an older restoration, or a well preserved original car. Hertz car, or not, I thought it was probably overpriced, based on the current market and the condition of the car.
I think it may be the same car as in the original post. I only looked at it real quickly on Thursday evening, but I think the documentation it had said it was from Colorado.
Hopefully the OP, will chime back in and confirm if it is the same car, or maybe a second one has turned up.

Bicycle configurations for each sex are more mysterious to me....as Gallagher once said, "...why does the one with the ***** get the bar ?".
Back on topic.....my Dad worked for Hertz, selling their used rental cars for a short period in the '60s. The company was trying a bunch of stuff to increase market share at the time.....the Hertz Rent-a-Racer was one effort; there certainly may have been other, more limited attempts that didn't get the notoriety.
Independent franchises did some zany things...in 1968 some Ford dealers offered a "Cardinal Mustang" (the Virginia state bird). It had a diagonal plaque of a Cardinal's head on the coupe roof just behind the side windows and was bright red...

Back in the day, "ladies" wore always long skirts, thus the cut-out frame to accommodate them.
