Intake Port Size on 427/390hp Manifold??
What is the intake port size on a stock Cast Iron oval Port 427/390hp intake manifold?

i don't know the answer but if you are asking because you want to know if a large rec. port manifold will work, the answer is yes....however the 390 intake will not work on the large heads.....

I've got one out in the garage. I'll be out there today putting in some carpet. Give me a couple of hours and I'll measure the port dimensions for you.

Actually, i am just trying to order a set of intake gaskets and i dont want to take the engine apart before i have all of the needed supplies.

Then tell the guy you want a set of intake gaskets for a 427 390 hp Corvette and he odds on will give you the right ones.
Open the box and look. The oval port gaskets are easily seen versus the rectangular ports.

Note that the bolt holes are some distance from the top of the runner.
See rectangular below.

The port dimensions on mine were 1.843" tall by 1.531" across.

They had several different sizes on the gaskets and that is why i asked. Odds are that with my luck, i would have been "handed" the wrong ones.
