Default Correct Date Etching for new Windshield

I am in the process of replacing the windshield in my 66 Coupe. Current windshield is scratched and is a replacement piece of glass with E-Z-Eye and Safety Float etched into the glass.

I want to be certain that the new glass has the correct etchings for my Dec 22, 1965 build date. Glass date code CJ.

Looking for verification on what must be etched into the inside of the glass. Based on what I can find with Option A02 Soft Ray Tinted Windshield. I believe I should have the following etched on the inside of the windshield;

SHADED
SOFT RAY
SAFETY[LOF] PLATE
AS1 CJ
M2 LAMINATED

Not too sure about the M2 with the LAMINATED.

Please advise if these are the correct markings with the A02 option for judging.

Thanks

Looks fine except for the "M2"; the manufacturer's code for a tinted windshield was "M4" (clear was "M3").

John thanks for the response.

I have an old 20+ year 66 Judging Manual and under the Windshield and Trim Section is states "M2 LAMINATED", page 47.

Thanks for the correction. Based on this new information my window etching should show as follows with the M4 below LAMINATED and not M4 LAMINATED on the same line.

SHADED
SOFT RAY
SAFETY[LOF] PLATE
AS1 CJ
LAMINATED
M4

Thanks

Regardless of the etching, the shading at the top will be different than the original and will be a deduction if you have it judged (which I assume is your plan or you wouldn't care about the etching).

Jim, I know there will be a deduction for the windshield. The windshield I currently have is a deduction and a replacement with the incorrect etching. Since I have to pay for a new windshield I at least want the etching to be correct. I do not have a correct 66 windshield to look at and wanted to make certain that the information I found on this site and books is correct.

The 66 Juding Manual I have indicates M2 for a A02 tinted windshield and not M4 as John has pointed out. My Judging manual is from 1992.

I am still unsure where the M4 goes, in front of or below the word LAMINATED.

I'm hoping that someone who has a 66 tinted windshield can provide with me with the actual etching information.

Thanks
Bob

The photos in the NEW '66 JG (5th Edition, April 2010) show the M4 below the laminated for a tinted windshield.

The original (to the best of my knowledge) windshield in my 65 vert did not have the M2 marking as spelled out in my Judging Guide. It did have the logo, date code, AS1, SAFETY PLATE and LAMINATED.

The windshield in my 65 is definitely the original one and it has the "M2" centered under the word "LAMINATED" as per the Judging Guide.
