I did this also and haven't had the dead car syndrome for 4 years

Amen brother! Had to push about .5 mile...amazing how wrong you can be re: what you thought was a flat piece of road. Embarrassing all the more after realizing all I needed to do was wiggle the connectors and it fired right back up! Live and learn....

Pics coming....

Welcome to the forum, you have heard from most of the quick shot forum members with tips and hints on fixing your car.

Some of us know what we are talking about and some of us just listen a lot.

I was fortunate to have forum members in all 48 states, help me on my trip. If you don't have a problem, we will help you find one.

It will take a little time to know your car. They are not hard to fix, but require patience, the glue you are running into is an example.

Drive your car a lot, get all the little things to break so you can do proper repair or replacement. Once done, you car will run like a truck in the aspect of reliability. ( Ops , I have a small block) just kidding.

Go online and get all the major vendors, (Zip, CC, Paragon, Corvette America, etc ) to send you catalogs. Many of the drawings and pictures of the parts will help you see how things go together. Zip's is good, because of the many pictures and organization. Paragon has very correct parts for fit and judging.

And most of all, drive your car as much as possible. It is good for you and good for all the moving parts. Many of the problems that occur are due to lack of use , rather than too much normal driving.

Have fun and most of all, a sense of humor.............

Default Follow up....

So...i've been spending some time trying to figure out the harness connection problem. I'm happy to report that the glue has effectively just peeled right off the firewall as well as the harness wall connector (thankfully the dope that sprayed it on made another idiotic decision to use nylon based glue on nylon(ish) connectors so it didn't seat at all). Upon removal and unplugging the connector I realized that a couple of pins were pushed back (force fit anyone?) so upon realigning and pulling them back out all is well in harness land (at least electronically). The tabs that hold the connectors broke off so for now I will have a non-invasive strap holding the connectors together. Ultimately I'll either have to replace the fuse box section and/or the whole interior harness section (which is a travesty considering the fact that the harness wiring is in perfect shape post the replacement during the '99 restoration). Is it possible to buy just the fuse box section or do I have to get a total harness replacement?

Thanks to all that helped identify and ultimately solve the problem!
