Yes, and from what I've been told, the "V" shaped plug wire shields that cover the front two plug wires on each side will not fit using this type of mount.

I have not experienced that with using the interlocking mounts.

I haven't used them but after looking at the above pictures, the locking mechanism is in the way for the front two plug wires to come up through the motor mount. Maybe it should be said that the "V" shields will fit, you just can't run the wires in them.

Works just fine... Why don't you stick to what you actually know and not what you've heard..
Chevrolet issued a TSB to retrofit the locking mounts to the C-2 era engines. It involved trimming some metal away on the wire covers to allow them to fit.
I believe the later C-3 wire covers were made with this mod or something similar as mentioned on the TSB.
I'm still curious why the locking mount is mentioned in the JG.

Trimming the shield was pretty easy, as I recall. It's probably in the Judging guide because the TSB (I dont think the word recall was in the automotive vocabulary yet, then) was for ALL V8 motor mounts to be changed over to the locking type. There were a rash of stuck throttle accidents attributed to the rubber breaking loose and allowing the engine to roll beyond design limits.
To answer your question about why the safety motor mounts are mentioned in the JG:
Under "Front Engine Mount Assemblies and Ground Straps" in my 65 JG it says "Score later interlocking safety style engine mounts as replacements." i.e, points are deducted for using the safety motor mounts.

Midyear Corvettes weren't involved in that recall.
The Corvettes used a much more robust mount design than the vehicle car lines that were recalled.
That's why I wondered about the mention in the JG.
Here's the rework sheet that came with the interlocking mounts showing the required modification at the front end of both lower V-shields; 1970-up C3 V-shields were manufactured the same way as shown for the rework.

Since you're using the wrong ones for your car, I guess they would fit just fine. I was just passing on what I had heard/read and it seems to be substantiated in this thread. No need to be such a tool.

Just following your mode of normal operation to shame those that disagree with you. There is a way to make the original shields to work as well as the later model ones that are available. Just continue to be a crusty old fart... You are good at being that...
