Default 67 coupe

new to the site and would like some help from you experts. considering purchasing a 67 coupe but not quite sure what it is worth so could you give me your opinions please. a no hit marlboro maroon / saddle small block car with power steering, power brakes, factory air and telescopic wheel. interior is excellent but outside it could use repaint. factory rallys and no sidepipes. all gauges work as they should and suspension and frame are in great shape. original 327/300 and powerglide are gone and replaced by good running 350/350 combo. factory tinted soft ray glass except for windshield which has been replaced at some point.
hope you can give me good idea of what it is worth.

thanks

I have a 4-speed car that is pretty much in line with what you have (Maroon/Saddle, P/B, original 327/300, however, no A/C or P/S)). Without pictures it is very difficult to give you an assessment, but GOOD paint will run you $10K, minimum. The lack of the OEM motor hurts, too. Having A/C with the PG is a good combo for an automatic. Has the P/G been replaced and with what? Does the A/C work?

My car is a very solid 68,000 mile car. If it had the options of your car plus a deduct for the paint, non OEM motor and P/G, I would say low $30s, tops. '67 are a great year to own, but you will never get this back to its original form without the correct drivetrain and the paint will have you in the low $40s right out of the gate. You can buy 4-speed/OEM motor '67s in nice shape in the mid to high $40s.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. If the car had great paint then I think it's a $40k+ car all day long if the factory A/C is all intact and working.

However as a buyer you'll want to negotiate a price that allows you to pay for the paint job and not be terribly upside down on the car.

with Dan... with the car having a non OEM motor, powerglide, and the paint issue anywhere from $28k - $32k. Some pics may help though. JMHO

Can you get someone with C-2 experience to look it over with you? Really need to check out the birdcage up under the dash. Pick and pook at the frame at the dog leg area. Rust could be covered up with bondo. What doesn't work? The A/C can be expensive to repair. $28-$33K Don't forget, once you start repainting it will led to rechrome everything, all new weather stripping, trim etc. You can reduce the repaint cost considerably by taking everything off and stripping the paint yourself....saving $1500-$2000. Remember...CASH talks and BS walks. Good luck! Dennis

all of the advice above is very good. One thing to ad is the condition of the body under that paint.Previous repairs or one piece front end will drastically up the price of new paint.

A good point. The OP said no hit body but that is really tough to ascertain until the paint is removed. Repair work can ad 20%-40% to the paint estimate. If I was looking at this car as a driver, I guess I would have to ask: can I live with the paint the way it is, even if it is flawed? If you can't, it is a tough call.

Dan, I would agree with your assessment as long as it is noted that these are prices consistent with the base or 300HP 327. The 350HP 327 would drive the prices up significantly.

bb62: You are 100% correct. No L 79 in the mid $40s for a squared away '67.

Dont know where you are but there are three C2s on Craigslist in the Portland Oregon area....two 64s, one coupe (with a 454 for $50k) one vert for $35k, and a 65 roadster Gran Sport wannabe for only $22k....(Failed project I think.)

There are good deals out there.....decide what you want before you go looking....

I'm on the other side of the world and know nothing other than what was posted here, however I have a photo of the A pillar and it looks like there are rust bubbles and/or bog in the area, there's definitely paint peeling and I can see some surface rust.

A repair in this area can be costly and apart from the price this is what is swaying me against it.

From the photos the paint looks stunning but if you say it's a 15 footer I guess I'll have to believe it.

You and others here did save me considerable money in having it inspected.

Not sure how bad this is but if I zoom in to the lower pillar section it looks like it's been bogged over and there's some paint peeling and/or rust bubbles.

What do you guys think?
