I don't have a clue...it's brown with what looks kind of like a bullet connecter?

It's a '66.

Thanks

I think that is for your parking brake warning light.

Looks like the lead to the parking brake light switch. The switch is screwed into the firewall bracket for the parking brake handle.

I'm not seeing it. Here is a pic of the firewall bracket for my PB handle. Am I missing something? Like maybe, a PB switch?

That and a warning light switch too?

well, the parking break doesn't work anyway, so Bubba must have thought it didn't need one?

You can see what you are missing in Stingrayi76's pic. It looks like you are missing the swtich part that that bolt depresses to turn off the warning light.

What's the red lens on your parking brake bracket? Added lamp to replace the in dash brake warning?

The '66 bracket I bought has a hole for this 4 way ...

Agree that tan wire is PB switch...try grounding it to see if your PB warning light comes on..

My '66 has the 4-way flasher option. That whole red button lights up when it's engaged.

That's what I was thinking. I'll climb under there when I get home to see if the female connecter is there.

Ok, here is a close-up pic of the switch. It looks like I have the connecter on it but it doesn't fit the connecter on the wire (see wire pic above). I tried to reconnect it but it just isn't the same size or anything. Could there still be a missing piece to one of the connecters?

BTW, it looks like I seriously need to pull all of that stuff out, repaint it and possibly install a new switch. I looks like it could be, ohhh...I dunno...46 years old or something!

I believe if you follow that brown wire to where it terminates, you can confirm one way or another if it is the BRAKE light wire. The wire that comes off your parking brake switch terminates at the BRAKE bulb in the dash board.

Ok, I cut the cover off of the wire (pictured above) to expose the connecter on it and it still doesn't fit the switch. It may be due to the switch connecter being filled with old insulation but it didn't even come close to fitting.

I also grounded out the wire and no light came on in the dash. Of course I do have several bulbs out in the dash so the fact it didn't light anything up doesn't mean much. The wire does go up into the instrument cluster.

It looks like there IS a connector on your switch. It looks like the wire has been pulled out.
Would like to see another pic of the current connector on the wire.

I believe the wire you need for your park brake light switch would have a round male end on it. It would fit into the open female end of that park brake light switch that is empty. It is the same type end and switch that controls your courtesy lights in your door jam switch. I don't have the 4 way lamp on my '66 but I'm guessing that is where it goes when a bulb is in place behind that red lens.
