Default Accelerator spring, which hole?

The accelerator spring bracket on my 65 L79 has two holes.
First question, is it correct? Second question, which hole does the spring fit into? And, out of curiosity, what is the second hole for?

Thanks for your help.

You are in the correct hole and the bracket with two holes is correct. I "believe' the second hole is if you wanted to add an additional spring for safety sake.

All sanctioning organizations require two (2) separate throttle return springs. Even if ya don't race, it's still a good idea

Hot Rod magazine once ran a story about a 57 Plmouth Fury with a JATO bottle at Bonneville. At the end of the article was this quote: "A JATO bottle provides 14,000lbs of thrust for 10 seconds. Once engaged, it cannot be turned off. Therefore, it is inadvisable to turn it on halfway up your driveway, or in the garage."

Think Big Block L-88 with broken throttle return spring!
