Guy at work came up to me this week , He has had a 67 427 390 hp Convertible sitting in his garage for 25 years. He had bought a 67 Tri power setup for the car years ago. It doesn't bolt up. He said there is a clearance issue. He was thinking of selling the tri power ( i cannot get him to sell the car thou i been trying for 17 years ). The unit is complete with all original carbs , linkage and the air cleaner. What is this worth ? Keep in mind its been sitting for years. I told him try to get the numbers for me .... Any thoughts

Need to get the #'s as that makes a huge difference!!!! 400 hp or 435 hp set up but assume its a 400hp due to his oval heads. Or is that the clearance issue? Date codes on carbs? Many times people have thought they had original carbs only to find out they were julian dated. Condition of air cleaner lid and manifold, etc., etc.... Always set-ups etc. on ebay also to compare or to assist with pricing (to obtain an apples to apples comparison. Oh, if his cast iron original 390hp intake is fine and its not a oval port/ret. port difference clearance the buyer should be made aware if there is a possible issue.

Tri power setup
I don't know what the clearance issue might be, unless it's not a factory manifold. If his car is a 390/427, then it should have the stinger hood and there should be ample clearance for everything. The 390HP and the 400/435HP cars all had the same hood. My car was originally a 390HP, and now it's a 435HP, and I have no clearance issues.
On the value, I have seen the manifold & carbs go for anywhere from $1500-$3500.
Its not an issue with the hood, Its the way it fits on the motor
since his car is a 390hp and you say that "fit on the motor is an issue" I am guessing that this tri power is from a 435hp.Square port vs oval port issue. As far as value a few things will determine that.'67 or '68-'69 intake? dated carbs? complete setup?condition? Check for cracks on the intake as they are known to have problems with them
previous owner of my 435 did not like the tri-power and put a dual line four barrel holley on. it does run nice with the holley. the grass is always greener on the other side. anyway, if it correct for a 67 435, send me contact info for the person in a pm and i will pass it on to whoever buys my 435.

there is a reason GM put a single four barrel on the L88
