Barn find!!! not many barns in Beachwood or Cleveland,Hts for that matter
Yes,I bought the car that was in the original ad.It looked pretty nasty with years of dust and mold as well some '70's type custom touches under the hood.It has some '70's copper paint job with a brown "lace" stinger and stripe on the decklid, some cool looking mags with raised white letter tires.Under the hood is the original motor with a edelbrock intake,MT valve covers and yellow plug wires, bug catcher air cleaner and a mallory distributor. The motor spun a bearing in the '80s shortly after the guy moved to the cleveland area and the car sat ever since. The car would not roll and the seller could not get it out of the garage.
The original ad showed it from the front covered in 30yrs of dust and neglect. The paint besides being incorrect color does not look nearly as good as it does in these pictures.Lots of cracking and nicks and scratches. The interior is pretty much untouched and looks very good after getting the mold off of it with the exception of the drivers side carpet. The window dried up and cracked fell off the original soft top. The frame has spots on either side on the under side of both end caps about the size of a half dollar. The side pipes were added. The body looks very good with the exception of the inside of the rear fender lips having been shaved for bigger tires. The motor is the original but is missing the tripower, valve covers and distributor.
There was another guy there before me making an offer on the car when I got there. He offered the seller a low ball price.I told the seller that I would pay his asking price. The other buyer said that I was nuts.LOL Here are few pictures after a good bath and before the body came off of the frame to start the restoration. The car looks better in the pictures than it really is but I still think that I did OK
So it is a '67 435hp but it's not blue ? Is that really worth anything ?
Ray (uh oh ...)
I know,I know.Stupid old me bought a black 435hp car.I guess that I should just junk it.Even the guy that was there before me told me that I was crazy to pay that much $ for it.
