Default Engine numbers

I'm attempting to figure out if this is the correct engine for my car.
Car is a 1964 roadster.
Engine has VIN stamped on it and build code: FIII8RD.
Thanks,
Paul

FIII8RD Flint, 11th Month (November), 18th Day. RD is 1964 code for 300 HP 327 with manual trans. (no AC, no Trans. Ign.) What's the "VIN" derivitive stamped ahead of it? Should be "41XXXXX", where the 5 X's are the last 5 digits of your VIN. Chuck

Thanks Chuck. The VIN is the same as my car. The only reason I asked is because there are 3 filled holes in both front fenders under the crossed flags where a "Fuel Injection" trim piece would be. I have been all over this car and I can find no evidence of fender replacement. Everything looks like original glass and bonding strips. There are no holes in the left inner fenderwell for the FI air cleaner support and there is no hole in the radiator support for the air intake, although it looks like it was replaced at some time in the past.

Maybe someone added the the FI badges because they wanted people to think it was a FI car while they were on the road-just a thought
