Fuel Pressure Regulator...

I need to put a regulator in the fuel line because the Edelbrock mechanical pump is putting-out 10+ psi. Yep, I double checked the p/n and it's supposed to only put-out about 6 psi. I've made a couple drawings for a heat shield/mounting bracket, but would like to see what others have done. Did you use braided or hard lines to the bowls from the regulator?
Thanks,
Dave

Why do you suspect high fuel pressure? Are the needles/seats not sealing and flowing over?
Is you pressure gauge accurate?
6 pounds is average, but pressures up to about 8 can be held back with a typical viton needle/seat.
The pressure delivered by the pump can be reduced by changing spring pressure/installed height. If the pump is out of warranty, then disassembly and a reduction in the spring pressure is easy to accomplish.
if you decide to go with the regulator, there are several styles but most are mounted around an inner fender between the pump and carb.
there may be smaller ones that could possibly mount on the intake manifold but how adjustable and effective could be an issue....jmo....
