Default 1966 vent window removal

Does anyone have directions (with pictures maybe) of the corrrect removal procedure for the vent window pillar. I would like to remove them to get them rechromed. I already have the door panel removed. Thanks.

Is it a convertible or coupe? On a coupe you basically have to remove the lower rear track, move the window rearward and out of the front track and let it rest in the bottom of the door. Then remove all the screws and bolts securing the vent window assembly and front track to the door. The vent assembly has to be pulled rearward and slightly down to disengage it from the door frame and then the top angled out and removed as it is rotated so the lower bracket clears the slot in the door. Then the window can be removed from the door if desired. The factory service manual has a pretty good description of the process with pictures

Edit - pulling to get re-chromed. That probably means a convertible. Propbably still have to loosen the rear channel but the rest may be a little simpler. Refer to the shop manual.

Both coupe and convertible vent window removal is covered in the shop service manual. Get one...treasure it....know it
