Default I need help finding numbers.

I have someone that may want to buy my 64 Corvette but he wants the numbers on the transmission and rear end. Can someone please tell me where I can find these numbers? Thanks for the help.

For the tranny, if its a 4 speed, look on the left side of the case at the rear of the cover. For the rear, the code is locarted on the front of the differential carrier. Look up just forward of the rear spring mounting plate.

Here are photos for my 67. The rear end has the code and the date and as Don stated for the location. The transmission numbers are the car's serial number and once again as Don stated for it's location.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but it looks like I'm missing the number on my tranny...

I don't see a serial number on that trans. Look on the opposite side of the casting ( passenger side) for a date code. Would be a letter ( P) followed by a date like 1120 ( nov 20) and a shift code.
For the rear you are showing a side photo. If you look at the surface at the bottom left of your photo , you will see the numbers in the center of that surface. ( bottom rear flange) Hope that helps.

The diff date and code is stamped on the as-cast surface on the bottom of the diff housing, between the front edge of the spring retainer plate and the camber strut mounting bracket; it'll take some cleaning to see it.
