Default window regulator roller kit

has anyone installed an aftermarket plastic window regulator roller kit lately?
gettin ready to tackle my drivers door this weekend and wanted to ask some preliminary questions...

1. how do you get the old "pins/rollers" out of the "X" brace that moves the window up and down? i assume they will come out fairly easily with a little persuasion, but you never know.
2. how do you install the new plastic "pins/rollers" in to the "X"? do you secure them by screwing them to the "X" with a small screw into the "pin"? or will they press in and stay there?
3. I assume i will have to do all this outside the door shell...will the assembly fit back into the door shell after you put it together or is there another way youre supposed to do it?

Those rollers are riveted to the window regulator, so you have to drill out the old ones and have an air gun with the proper attachment to "rivet" in the new ones. Not too bad if you have the right tools. Pilot Dan

Yes, fraid so. The plastic rollers have a tubular rivet the holds them to the regulator. I use an air gun with a rivet set to sink them. The vendors may sell a rivet set for that as well.

When you say air gun I assume you mean air hammer, correct? Does anyone have a size, picture or a link showing what the proper bit looks like?

Do you just put the flat wheel side on a flat steel surface like a vice and air hammer the hollow rivet on the other side?

Thanks,

Thanks for the link, do you know if there will fit into an air hammer or do you need the special rivet gun?

I also saw this one form ZIP, had anyone used it? It is a bit pricey to do 6 rivets.

Also there are different sizes, what is the best way to measure what size I need?

I also see Corvette Central has one that looks like you manually hammer in a 1/8, 3/16, 5/16 and 9/64.

OK, it turns out I had a canvas snap installation tool that worked perfect. I forgot about that and it is a lot cheaper

Thanks for the help!
