Looking to replace my rather beat up looking shifter console plate and they're listed on Ecklers $590.00 painted. This seems pretty expensive to me and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions where I might find a quality plate that's not so pricey.

Thanks!
Are you talking about the "inserts"
Part # 232100 at corvette central is $27.00
or the complete console?
part # 232039 is $429.00 paint to match the color you want.
I have checked out Paragon as well, $450.00, but still not painted. Looks like all the suppliers have them for a different price, but none painted. Why can't you or get someone to paint it. It wouldn't cost that much or even someone as a favour.
It's unlikely that any vendor stocks all of them painted - there were 12 different part numbers for the manual transmission console plate, and 12 more for the Powerglide plate; that's why they're "paint to match".
These consoles can be painted with a brush, since the surface is a textured faux leather surface and the sheen of paint is satin. That might make things easier for you? Spray painting with a rattle can is quite simple as well, with a bit of masking required.
They're not hard to mask off and paint, but finding paint that's durable enough is my challenge. 6 months later it looked as bad as the old paint.
That's what I did for my '64 shift console. A rattle can of CA Dark Blue was the paint used. This dark blue color was a bit on the dark side but the finished result turned out really nice. After careful trimming and masking of the chrome, etc., the old original paint was sanded for a better bite for the new paint to stick to. So far, so good. .. .. Hopefully, it 'sticks' over the long haul.
