decided to call/search on contacts i have on the car yesterday. i was able to identify two new names of people who owned the car. one being the original owner who said he bought the car from shaffer chevrolet in gary, indiana. while i thought i was the fourth owner, i am now moved to number five. i conversed with the first and third owners, both enjoying reminiscing about the car. i asked the original owner if he had the protect-o-plate by chance, and he was not familiar with what i was talking about. i do not doubt that when you are young and buy a 67 roadster you do not spend time with the paperwork. though the tank sticker identifies Jack Douglass Chevrolet in hinsdale, illinois as ordering the car, i would assume there was a dealer trade involved.
