Default Help with steering

I put the steering on today and the driver side tire is throwing me off. When everything came off nothing was touched so I want to make sure I am not doing something wrong before going any further in putting everything back on. I know that things can be adjusted but just want to make sure nothing is amiss.

Not sure if these help or not. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks Jim

How much of the suspension did youi have off? Looks like there is too much positive camber on the drivers side. Does it have an offset shaft on the upper control arm? Maybe it's on backwards? Are the alignment shims back in the same place?

Default Steering

I did not put the shims that were originally on there back on. I figured it would all be off since the frame and everything was powdercoated. I actually didnt even think about the shims but it looks like it is still too much even if the shims were in place. I believe everything was put back together correctly. Jim

Are the tie rod adjusting sleeves both the same length? The one on the left side has LOTS of threads showing on the tie rod end, and the one on the right side has hardly any threads showing. Are the outer tie rod ends both in the same holes in the steering arms on both sides?

Default tie rods

the tie rods are in the same holes but you are correct the threads are not equal. So is this an easy fix? I am not familiar with this stuff so I am going to go out on a limb and say I would have to do is adjust each tie rod until the tires lined up right?? or that would at least get me in the ball park?? Thanks Jim

That would get you in the ball park of the current toe setting. But alignments are done in steps. Caster adjustment first then camber then toe. It is done that way because caster affects camber and toe and camber affects toe. So. If you change the toe now an the caster and or camber are adjusted the toe will change. If the wheel is out at the top like it looks in the pictures I would install the shims and see if it brings the rest back to eyeball close.
