So, the rear luggage light is on too. Still haven't had any luck. Does this mean it's grounding somewhere to the luggage light, before I go tearing it apart. Sorry, I'm a bit daft when it comes to electrical. Thanks!

Not making sense to me. Right or wrong bulb -- if the 'ground' side of the circuit is properly interrupted by the headlight and door switches the light damn sure ain't coming on.

I'm betting you probably disturbed something that was causing your problem; bumped a wire, moved a socket somehow. I'd leave it alone and hope the problem doesn't reappear.

Most bulbs use the base as a ground but not so with the #90. The #90 bulb has two contacts and one filament. One contact is positive and the other is the negative. The courtesy lights in a C2 are screwed to the birdcage structure and when a bulb is installed that uses the base for a ground it will be grounded to the birdcage via the mounting bracket and stay illuminated with the doors closed.
