I have both of my door panels off my '66 to renew the internal workings. Before I reinstall the 2 window regulators and door lock, I was wondering whether there is a factory correct way to align the regulators and door lock (e,g. regulators positioned at 9 o'clock when in the closed position, or some such thing?)

Any insights would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Theres not much movement for adjustment in the regulator mounting to the door itself, the adjustments for window operation come from the window tracks per the shop manual. Pilot Dan
Sorry folks, I am get too fancy in my terminology (or maybe incorrect?). What I would like to know is about the placement of the window cranks themselves. Is there a factory correct positioning for the window crank, vent window crank and door lock?
I don't know about any factory settings, but do have a personal preference for the window crank handles. Being 6' 2" tall and having long legs, I tend to lean my left knee outwards against the door panel when driving so as to clear the bottom of the steering wheel. It is very irritating to find the window crank handle **** in the exact position where your knee wants to be. So, I chose to position the crank handle so it is facing foward when the window is down, since my car is a convertible and most of the driving is done with both the top and windows down!
Your results may vary - Coupe w/air & windows up vs convertible set up as mine, etc. Just plan ahead for your preferred set up!

There's no specified orientation for the window cranks; the raised portion of the inside lock **** should be horizontal with the door unlocked, with the word "Lock" at the top.

Thanks John. That's very helpful. My door lock ***** have no word "lock" on them. They are like this:
