No, Roy does NOT own the car. It is owned by the same CA couple that purchased it in Los Gatos CA in 1968. It carries EX87 as a Vin Tag and as a personalized CA license plate. It was sold by GM in 1956.
The white car sold by Dana Mecum is '55 #1399, a Chevrolet Engineering test car that was rebodied with the '54 body from Engineering #5951 and given to NASCAR in 1956, along with a rebodied '53 test car, for Bill France's short-lived SCORAD series (sports cars racing on short dirt ovals).
The white car is NOT NOW OR EVER BEEN EX87. EX87 was issued when the car WAS SOLD BY GM and titled as such to COMMUNICATE THAT IT WAS NOT A REGULAR PRODUCTION VEHICLE, IN THE SAME MANNER AS EX 122. (By the way, the numbering system is NOT in order.)
