It's a 1964 coupe with a powerglide, has been sitting in stoarge for a few years, pulled it out got it running. It had leaked transmission fluid so added fluid, let it idel and warm up, did not drive then let it sit over night no leaking. Next day I drove it to work (less than 6 miles and it shifted fine) after about 3 to 4 miles I noticed smoke in my rear view mirror, I pulled over and looked underneath, transmission fluid was blowing onto the exhaust pipes and burning. I took it to a shop that I use just down from my office. They put it on a lift, said all seals were leaking, so pulled transmission and replaced all seals. On the third test drive (which was longer distance about 5 miles one way) it began smoking, fluid was blowing on the pipes. They say it is coming from the vent hose. What would cause this and how to fix?
Thanks, if anyone can help.
Oh, after the test drive it was put on lift and would not leak or blow out while running.
What vent TUBE?
Could you tell if it was the right side leaking oil (the dip stick TUBE seal may be bad)! ( my best bet) Or the left side modulator may be bad .

I'm sure you added fluid based on what the dipstick says, and that you checked the fluid level on the dipstick with the engine running and the gear selector in nuetral. Just making sure.
Well I got it out of the shop Friday, took it home so I could check it myself to be sure where its leaking. After cleaning and driving a few times I took a piece of heater hose and put it over the vent nipple and routed it to the outer frame rail and took a test drive, got back and fluid was dripping from the hose and there was no other fluid anywhere. It's definitely coming out of the vent. Looks like trans needs to come out, anyone ever had this problem, any ideas?
