Default C1 small block ignition shielding???

My friend is looking for shielding for his 1959, does it change in appearance through the years? If so, which years are the same as 1959?
Thanks

Can't say from personal experience but looking at the ZIP catalog, 56 thru 59 calls for the same shielding part numbers (w/o FI)... 60, 61 and 62 are each different part numebrs w/o FI.

Can't say what the distinction is between them.

They look mostly the same. I'd get a '61 or so, because the later ones had nice notches in the back that makes installation a LOT easier.

No the shields are different. I can't recall what years but The Skirt on the main shield is shorter and then gets longer. I bought a correct one for my 60 but I had to consult my guru mate to tell me the difference. Stewy

IMO...Avoid hassles upfront by buying the shielding specific to your '59.

There are 7 different top shielding boxes used between 56 and 62, but all 56-60 carbureted engines use the same one. All of the boxes look similar, with the differences being mainly in the way the bottom edges of the covers are trimmed.

I think that Corvette Central's website, shows all 7 of the boxes.
