56 Corvette door alignment
Hello,
Just replaced the pins and bushings on my 56 door hinges and have been working on lining up the door gaps. I have the gaps where I want them now and the latch works very nice and lines up perfect. Only question I have is when the door is closed it can be moved in or out about 1/4". There is no weatherstripping in place yet as the car is being prepped for paint. I wanted to know if this is normal and if that small movement stops after the weatherstripping is in place. If that is the case will the door stop in the further out position when the weatherstrip in place. Any help would be appreciated, just trying to figure out where the door will sit before the body work starts. When i got the car the weatherstripping was already removed so I did not see how it was before. Thanks,
