Default Anyone Else Having Availability Issues with Corvette Central?

Just received an e-mail telling me it will be at least another two weeks to get the windshield wiper arms I ordered in early April. Also received new steering pump hoses late as well.
Does Corvette Central even stock C2 parts? I'm wondering, since it seems like they have to order parts from somewhere else on most of my past two orders...

I just recently ordered a bunch of stuff from CC. Took advantage of thier free shipping
I carefully whent through the shipping list and discovered several parts that were not included in the shippment. However, closer look at the invoice showed that some items would ship seperately. I can afford to be patient since is has taken me 16 years to bild this car. A couple of other parts did show up about three days later, but again there is one outstanding part. I'll keep a lookout for it.

Only in one case did I ask for a refund, because the leed time was way to long. As it turns out, there are some items they do not stock. They get directly from the manufacturer. No big deal if you your not in a hurry.

Other than that, they've been pretty good. Everyone there seems freindly when I call and ask technical questions.

Good luck.

I can't expect more from them than I would my local auto parts.

Quit using them a long time ago for this reason.

I do agree many orders do come incomplete. I am seldom in a rush for parts. I guess it didn't bug me.

Seems I have been lucky. Over 3 yrs on my whole restoration. I only had a few back orders (no body or frame parts). I cancelled the orders and purchased elsewhere.

So far they have been pretty good to me.

I guess economic realities caused them to reduce their inventory, or they are asleep at the wheel?

Certain parts, especially dated ones, are often made "on demand". Others are drop-shipped by those who actually manufacture them. Others can be out of stock there and everywhere else. Try to find 62 rocker panel moldings anywhere right now, for example. It's not just Central.

and when you are on the phone with them and ask if the item is in stock, they reply "yes it is" BUT when the order arrives many times it is backordered. Stop buying from them years ago because of the backorder issue. I prefer Paragon.

Same story here.....30% of my orders from CC were on back order. 6 years ago I went to order a complete set of side pipes from them at Carlisle and was told that they are out of stock for 30 days....they asked for my name and phone number and would call when they become available....6 years later still waiting for that phone call. For my needs, Adam at Volunteer was exceptional.

Default I'm happy!

I'm satisfied with them, just took advantage of their free shipping.
Their prices are typically better than Ecklers.
Now why they mailed me C2-3-4 catalogs, I have no idea......

side note-Ecklers was handing out free catalogs at Daytona Spring show, but they weren't taking any orders with free shipping, which is typically the case at most shows....They just missed some business, CC got it instead....

I don't mind and understand if something is on backorder but I would like to know that before I purchase. The nice thing about LIC is that a price will know show up on the internet if the part is not in stock so you know right away if there will be a problem.

Does Corvette Central even stock C2 parts? I'm wondering, since it seems like they have to order parts from somewhere else on most of my past two orders...
I always have had such problems.
I only use them as a last resort.
Fastest delivery I have always found with LICS.
Always.

Thank you for mentioning this. Sometimes we are at the mercy of the vendor, and the part simply isn't available anywhere, let alone CC.

However, we are continuing to increase stock on high turnover items so that backorders are reduced. Since 2008, we have steadily increased our complete order shipment percentage. With over 50,000 part numbers, that's no small feat!
