Default 1965 window track

window fell off track on a 65 vette I have and was trying to remove the door skin to put it back in place. Can anyone tell me how to get the small vent window handle off so I can get the skin off. I already have the screws out. Thanks

The same tool you used too get the window crank handle off unless you have power windows. You will need the tool. It may take some jiggling. Make sure your tool is aligned with the handle. A "C" clip catches in a small slot. The tool will push the clip out and the handle will drop off. Dennis

Some folks (myself included) have had success with taking a rag such as an old T-shirt and wrapping a portion of it in a "U" shape under the ****. Then, with a back and forth motion or a sawing motion, work the shirt back and forth. The C-clip will usually catch on the shirt and will be pulled out. If it doesn't come off after a few tries, move the shirt 180 degrees and try again.

That's the way I've removed several clips for many years. . . . .

And that's the only way to get that door lock **** off!
