alternator bracket
A week or so ago I saw a thread about alternator/generator bracket for headers using the #1 and #3 bolts on the passenger side. I like the look of the bracket- will it work for generator?

This is the bracket to which you were referring.
Yes it will work for a generator if you get an "alternator to generator" mounting bracket.
They come as a regular "F" bracket
Or as a transition piece,
Be sure that you get one for a Chevy.
