Default Which RED is best for the Corvette

I had a great talk today with a fellow Corvette RestoRodder who stated that Viper Red is the way to go. Given his experience with RestoRods, I will research this before I make a decision on my 64 Roadster as he is a respected expert in the field.

So Viper Red? OR what about these Corvette Reds?

Let the discussion begin - please......

Thanks,
Dan

2001 C5 Magnetic Red was the losest to candy apple red I could get without paying a candy price...

I don't have any of the complete car yet since I'm not quite done with it, but hopefully within a month...

Not original but oh well... It's a Corvette color

I'll put it up against any RED out there. It can match up closes to C6 Crystal Ruby Red in shade, but pops brighter in sun. Has a tremendous shade range that exceeds Crystal Ruby Red based on lighting as it's really a 3 stage candy paint cloned to two stage.

I call it Vampire Blood Red. You don't want to go out with it until after midnight and you don't want to be seen with it at Sunrise or the villagers will kill you...

Ive spent more time on this issue than any other, for my 65 build. Good luck with your decision and I promise not to copy it, lol. My builder likes Porsche Polo Red, but we have decided to go with a blue or maybe a green. Decisions, decisions!

I have parked my '66 MM (repaint) next to a 2003 Anniversary Red. If I ever get around to repainting the car I think this will be the route I go. Very good color and it's a Corvette color too.

A little orange in the red looks Corvette perfect for my taste. I painted the '69 Monza Red (because I was painting a different times and was too chicken to try it with a metallic); Torch Red on some C6's has it!

I'd say a monterey red or crystal red tintcoat.Unless you want to go with a candy apple red with a silver base coat. Just be prepared for alot of attention.

All 3 of my resto-mods are Viper red. I like the color, and it makes it easy to touch up, since I only have to stock one paint in the shop!

I agree with the expert in that Viper Red is the way to go. I currently own a 2005 Viper in Viper Red and it is stunning and the prettiest red I have ever seen. No Corvette red is even close in beauty. However, I have also owned many Corvettes and the red I like best, if you want to stay with a Corvette color, is Victory red but it's not as stunning as Viper Red. Good luck with your decision. Maybe you should consider scrapping the 64 Vette and buying a Red Viper. Better color, better handling, more power, more fun to drive and not everyo9ne and their brother owns one.
