found the lower control arm bolts loose today during my pre-cruise checkup for a long run tomorrow...need to know the torque specs for them and is there an order they should be tightened, my assembly manual doesn't tell me, I seem to remember 70# is that correct? Thanks Rob

it doesn't mention it in the spec sheet but it is important to note that suspension torques need to be done at "curb height" (the car needs to be resting on it's tires not suspended by a hoist) you need a drive on hoist...

See your '65 Assembly Manual, UPC 3, sheet 2, note at lower left of illustration: "NOTE: Tighten with spring compressed to curb height." Also has torque symbol 3, which is 45-55 ft-lbs.

thanks John, didn't know what that torque symbol meant
If they loosened up, they probably are poly and torque references are pretty useless. Use lock tight.
not poly but I suspect I will need to replace the bushings, likely the cerations have worn off as they look to be original. I will lock tight them as an interim fix, thanks
Interesting, I have never seen an original rubber bushing cap come loose, that was actually tightened up to begin with.
not sure if they were taken apart before I bought the car 3 years ago, it was frame on restored and new springs installed so don't know the extent of disassembly that was done, there was a squeek in the front end that got me looking into it.

Squeaks usually indicate poly bushings too. Are you sure they are rubber?
