wiper control

i have a wiper control switch and cable from a 55 belaire,,, number on teh side of it is 8701037,,, is that the same control for a c1?

i see that there seems to be different controls for different years, but is that just teh ****? the control i have doesn't have teh washer button...

anyone know if it will work? i don't have a wiper motor to try it on....

I think that mounting it in the dash is the issue. Seems to me that the passenger car/truck switches were the same, but the body of the switch is too short to mount to the dash.

hey mike ,,
thanks for teh reply,,, mounting isn't teh problem, i just had to file a notch to clock it so teh vacuum tubes would clear, and have the cable facing the right direction,,, i'm wondering if it will operate teh switch on teh motor,,, i guess they're mechanically the same... do you know if the cables are the same length....
