Has anyone found a fix for the gas pedal slipping off the rounded stud pedal mounts in the floorboard? Have new mounting studs. New rubber pedal which pops onto the studs lasts for awhile and then slips of the rounded studs.
Has anyone tried using a pedal for a C2? It appears to two studs attached to the pedal itself.
Thanks for the input!

Reason: new question
I had the same problem, even after buying all the parts from the studs, pedal and all new linkage. Final just put in a Lokar pedal and linkage and matching clutch and brake pedals.
But that's not the answer if your trying to appear stock.
Having owned my car for almost 40 years, i can say i never had a problem with the pedal coming off the original studs, either the pedal the car came with, or the replacement I installed about 25 years ago.
Maybe the new stud ***** are undersize, or the replacement pedals you got are crap. Or maybe you do funny things with your feet while driving that pops the pedals loose? Or have the carpet bunched up or installed funny behind the pedal so that the excess material levers the pedal off the studs?
I feel your pain. I also have the same problem. Although it's not frequent, it does happen. It has nothing to do with "funny things with your feet while driving". Since you brought up the subject, I did examine the ball stud on the accelerator and it does look worn (No kidding it's 50 years old!). So I'm assuming that lack of contact with the pedal is causing the slippage. Also in checking the back of the pedal itself there doesn't appear to be a specific contact point for the ball stud on the accelerator. The back of the pedal is completely flat. Hope this helps.
i had a problem with mine for 2 reasons: 1) the ball and the socket in the pedal were worn, and 2) the carpet was putting upward pressure on the ball end of the peddle.
i fixed it by getting new '*****' (no comment Frank or Pete or Tom) and a new pedal and used washers to shim the ***** up as far as i could and still get nuts on the underside.

If you measure the parts vs. originals, you'll find that the holes in the C1 reproduction pedal are too large, and the ***** on the reproduction studs are too small. When I was doing C1's, I made my own studs.
