Need some help decifering a trim code
F 22 Build: (I believe that to be built in 1-25-65. Is that correct?)
Style 65 467, (covertible).
Trim 402 AA, (Black leather no restrictions?).
Body S 2509 (St. Louis and body number?)
Paint 90000 ??? Is it black?
Thanks.
Fastcar2
F22 = Jan 22
Style 65 467 = 65 Convertible
Trim 402 AA = Black leather, carpet & dash
Body S 2509 = St. Louis body, body # 2509
Paint 90000 = Sure it's not 900AA? That would be tuxedo black

Trim 402 AA = Black leather, carpet & dash
Body S 2509 = St. Louis body, body # 2509
Paint 90000 = Sure it's not 900AA? That would be tuxedo black

For the body sequence #, there would be 4 possible cars using the same number! The two body plants, St. Louis and AO Smith, each sequentially numbered their bodies, so you can have #1820 coming from each one. Then, you have two body styles, coupe and convertible, so you can have an #1820 coupe and an #1820 convertible. Combining plant and style you can have 4 iterations using the same number.
In the first car above, Style 467 with S 2509 indicates the 2,509th convertible body formed in St. Louis in 1965.
For the second tag, Style 467 with A-1812 indicates the 1,812th convertible body formed in Ionia, by AO Smith in 1967.
Link to Chevrolet Memo regarding the starting production of AO Smith bodies. Link here
Because of lead time in assemble and shipping, AO Smith bodies in 66 were 1 letter different than STL. I'm not sure if this holds true for 65 model years.
My May 66 build is J5 per NCRS Production report date 5/19
