Did anyone happen to see the Barrett Jackson auction from Orange County last night? They advertised this 63 SWC fi all day! (must have been Craig's brother in law) 2nd flight? Helped by Noland Adems? Sold for $110k with their 10%
How much help was Noland do ya think? Had his image standing by the restorer on their ad's all day!
Details: Originally from a dealership in Hollywood, CA. 3-year body-off restoration, with the guidance and assistance of Noland Adams and Corvette Stop. The car was completely restored, including the engine, transmission, front and rear suspension, etc. The interior was provided by Al Knoch. The fuel injection was rebuilt by Chuck Smith. All of the gauges were rebuilt. The car was painted by Top Notch in Roseville, CA. The car was NCRS judged for the first time last year in Sacramento, CA. It received a Second Flight. The car was within two points of Top Flight. A few minor items have been fixed since. Options are as follows: genuine leather seats, Soft Ray tinted glass, power windows, 4.11 posi-traction rear end, power brakes, 327/360hp engine, 4-speed transmission, plastic wood grained steering wheel, white wall tires and AM/FM radio. **WILL BE SOLD AT APPROXIMATELY 6:00PM SATURDAY, JUNE 23, 2102**
Not to diminish the significance of any Flight award, but I wonder what Noland thinks about being associated with car restoration that didn't score a Top Flight?

I think the greatest help he received from Noland was has reference books, And ofcource posing for an image with the restorer!!
IMHO the values should be someplace in the middle. The Saddle Tan 360hp should have been worth somewhat more, and the Black 340hp should have been worth somewhat less

I saw the car, it was well done! I'm not sure how they got so much exposer either! They hyped it for three days!! Then the two guy's on the block announced "Noland Adams is credited for this restoration" Wow, what a play on words! They said as it was pulling onto the block "it may be the highest bid car of the auction" I think someone somewhere was very disappointed. To me it sold light of where it should have been!
I agree.
My only knowledge of the car was on television and the Internet, but based on the absolute junk I have seen for 80K, it looks like it should have been worth more.
