i would not do that, unless it is a short term loan, so you do not have to sell investments. of course if you sell investments now, you will probably get a tax break for a loss. jim

Lifes short.

Had a heart attack last year and was brought back
from the other side. I`m not worried about that.

Besides i`m cash poor.

I once used J.J. Best Banc. No issues. A car inspection was required to secure financing. They selected, coordinated, amd sent the inspector. Rates are higher than a regular bank (but my regular bank doesn't do classic car loans), but the rate didn't matter much to me since I paid it off in a few months. Sometimes timing, desire, and opportunity align when you rather they didn't, and financing can have a place if used appropriately.

sorry to hear that John but you have the right idea, just don't add any unnecessary stressers...good luck and enjoy, 2013's financial breakdown is gonna teach us a lot of lessons.

Cute doxie`s by the way, my buddy Ernie in the pic passed
last year. Still have 2 sitting beside me as I type this.

I`ve got my eye on a beautifully restored `65 Conv.

No issues at all 327-300 4spd, 2-tops @ $55.k

Do I need it no, I currently have a `08 Z06 with just 13,000 miles.

I`m for sure an addict!

Credit union's.

I just checked Pentagon Federal Credit Union, 1.99% There is some stipulations.

When I had financed my 64 thru them, they asked for pictures of:

Four corners
Motor
Interior
Odometer (had to be under 100k, it showed 33812.

My home equity loan is 3.25% adjustable just for FYI.

I don't see the advantage of the tax write off overcoming the interest difference and I do believe rates will rise in 2013.

I did the same thing last year with JJ Best. I really didn't think the rate was that much higher but I really don't remember. Then I just paid it off after a couple of months. I like that better than home equity loans since the real estate values are so unstable.
