I have purchased a 1964 coupe from a friend I have known for 25 years. Terry and his corvette are one of the cars that made me have a passion for cars. I never thought I would have the money to purchase a corvette let alone the very car that helped started it all. If anyone is interested here is a list of what I'm going to do: I have almost finished building a 440 cid stroked 348/409 with Hilborn injection (stacks under the hood) Edelbrock heads, hyd. roller cam,and 4 speed that I will install for the GO. Wilwood 4 wheel disc. brakes will handle the WHOA. Vansteel offset TA's, Wider stock looking rear quarters, Painted Yellow.
I have always wanted a 409 w/ injection and a mid year coupe and now I will have both.
I will post pics as I progress and I am sure I will have questions as I go along. Looking forward to talking with all of you.
Welcome Andy! You really hit the GO button on this one. I can hear the cash registers ringing somewhere. Keep us posted with pics and enjoy the ride. Dennis
Thank you for all the nice comments. I will post some pics soon. I will have rear suspension questions soon because I'm a straight axle guy and this rear looks like a learning experience.
hey Andy, welcome aboard, lookin' forward to hearing all your exploits, I've had a few 409's, love the torque, sounds like a far out unit comin' to the "Bama" scene ...
Welcome Andy sounds like a plan; keep some of your budget for beefing up the drive train you may need it with the torque that old 348/409 will make. Keeping it period correct will be a definate "Cool" factor.
