Default 63 A/C question

Does anyone know if the paint tag has anything stamped on it that indicates if the car was an original A/C car? I am aware of the date which is stamped for month and week, but do not know if GM ever stamped anything on it about the car having A/C.

Thanks
Jack

Yes, it does. If the "Trim" number has a 2-character suffix starting with an "X", the car had A/C. There are some other single-letter suffixes that signify A/C with the saddle leather interior. What's the build date code and "Trim" code?

My understanding is that early 63s never had AC, the date in which the earliest AC Car was built is still up for debate. Some say as early as early MAY, those cars did not have the "X" identifier as the X identifier did not come in till later in the 63 production year. That is my understanding at the moment. A number of pre-production cars were fitted with AC, and the X had not been adopted yet.
