Body mount squeak
It is the mount on my 65 coupe right under the B pillar on the drivers side. I tightened it down and the noise stopped. It came back. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this. I am afraid if I torque it too much something might break. The speck says 45# and I went to 55# It is only the one mount. I should mention that I have 73 style mounts.

Is all of your birdcage metal sound in that area to the best of your knowledge? Just wondering if it might be weak from rust and flexing or moving around slightly. Might try spraying the area down with WD40.

I had the body off and inspected the bird cage so it is good. I tried the WD 40 but could not get it under the mount. I was thinking of backing the bolt way out then soaking it down and re tightening it. Just wondered if anyone else had this issue.

A squeak usually indicates movement of some type. You might try loosening the mount bolts on that side of the car and inserting another shim where you're getting the squeak.
