Default Engine Numbers

I have a friend that has a corvette with this engine in it .
Block casting 3932386 Date J168
Heads casting 3991492 Date J259

Where the vin number should be it has 61909016 I think this is replacement number engine ??? If so does anybody know what the number say?// And can you tell me what the other number fit Thanks Allot in advance I told him you guy would know , Thanks Piper

The source production code on the front would help, but it is a 68,69 engine with 69 heads by the dates.

I found that the Block casting 3932386
could be a 302,327,or 350 engine Any way to tell witch one it is??? Also it said the head are 202/160 ,i think of a 350. I do not know what number you are talking about Can you tell me where it is please?? Thank You piper

Front of the block, on the flat pad, RH side. Code will be the Plant, date, and Code.

Example ( F0821HE )

What is on that pad is the number i put in my first post 61909016 and most people say that is a replacement block number ,i just want to know if you can tell anything from that number

I think you have about all the information you are going to get. Looks like it was a replacement engine with a sequence number. That number means nothing to us. Probably a short block. The heads are a year later, so they probably didn't come on it. Check the bore and stroke and determine if its a 302,327,or 350.

you can tell cubic inches by the shape of the rear crank flange
