I am trying to sort out the a/c in my 65 roadster. I believe that Bubba was there b4 me. There is only 1 vent cable under dash. It's mounted to the right and I don't know where it goes. should it be on the left side and go to the left vent? Is there not supposed to be a right underdash vent cable in an ac car?
I removed the glove box to look at the to of the heater box, and saw a cable that was not terminated, just sitting there. It came from the air **** of the ac cluster of 4 *****. Does this hook up to the lower right vent?
Myron,
I don't have a '65, but I think the midyear vent cables were the same across the years. There should be two *****, one under each side under the steering column and are attached to the gauge cluster housing. The one on the right hand side of the steering column goes to the right, and the one on the left goes on the left (real short cable). If I remember correctly, the one to the right runs along the top of the heater box.
On an air car the right vent cable is in the center console. On a 65 coupe the right under dash cable operates the roof vent blower, but is not there on a convertible. On the convertible non a/c the left side pull is to the right of the steering column just left of the parking brake handle. On an a/c car the right vent is on the same **** as the heater/ac fan. You pull to open it.

Thanks for the replies. So, does that mean that there should be only one underdash vent cable? Left to the left vent (remember this is an ac roadster)?
