Another Tranny Decode Thread
Pulled the 4 speed out for the RS500 swap.
Doesnt appear to be the original, any help decoding would be most appreciated.
Once its decoded, It will go up for sale.
P8T13 Is that 1968, [month] 13th ?

P8T13= Muncie 1968 T= December 13 is the day
3884685 is a 1966-67 side cover
3946129? sure it is not 3846429 which is a 1964-65 tail housing.

It came out of a 68 Pontiac (the 2 at the beginning of the VIN is for Pont, 1 is Chev, 3 is Olds, 4 is Buick).
Chevy switched from the 429 tail housing to the 584 tail housing in 65, BUUUUUUUUUUT, Pont continued with the 429 tail housing in some cars, such as GTO, until about 70.
