left vent cable attachment

left vent cable attachment

Can someone tell me what type screw is used to attach the pull cable attaching clip to the plastic vent cover. The is a landing area where the clip screws to and is held in place. Is it a sheet metal screw. I feel funny screwing into a piece of plastic.

Yes - it's a self-tapping screw.

If it bothers you too much you can always put a sheet metal nut on the back surface of the vent cover (assuming the screw is long enough).
